How and when should I book?

Give one of our friendly team a call on 0800 121 6242, text 077 311 71177 or email info@oakfireadventures.com We recommend that you book in advance as our activities tend to get booked up - especially during weekends and school holidays. Sometimes we are out of the office with groups but please leave a message and we will get back to you ASAP.

When are you open?

We are open whenever people make bookings, there is no minimum number and as long as there is daylight we will look after you. Sometimes if you drop in and we can accommodate you then we will. We will be announcing new full time opening hours in the next few months.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your activities up to 48 hours before your adventure starts by calling the booking line on 0800 121 6242 and we will fully refund you. If Oakfire need to cancel your booking, we'll contact you to either move your booking or refund you in full. Please note that Corporate Events require cancellation notice by 10 working days prior to the event, due to the inclusion of vendor services.

What happens in bad weather?

All our aerial challenges are excellent wet weather activities! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning. Rain makes the course muddier than usual – which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather. Sometimes, unfortunately, we might need to close the course for reasons beyond our control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.

What should I wear?

We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather so bring along a jacket if it’s raining! You need to make sure you have the correct footwear with closed toe and heel (with flat soles), no sandals, high heels or slip-off shoes. Your stomach area will need to be covered as harnesses may rub and long hair must be tied back.

What do I need to know before I book?

Before booking a paintball session with us, have an idea of your preferred date and time for the booking, as well as a rough estimate of how many participants will be with you. If you bring 14 or more with you, the organiser gets to go for free!

Remember! More people = more targets! Happy hunting!

Do we need to pay a deposit?

We take a £10 deposit per participant (14 members = £140 deposit). We understand group members will drop in and out before the session, so a rough estimate is all we need. The deposit is due 2 days before the session and can be paid in cash to the site, by card over the phone, paypal or cheque.

We take a deposit because we organise staff, equipment and sometimes food for the group, and just means we're covered if something comes up or you need to cancel the morning of the session.

Are there restrictions?

Yes, everybody has to be 16 years of age or over. If you have/are partial to any of the following we would recommend that you not take part:

- Pregnant
- Suffering from migraines / headaches or have ever had whiplash
- Suffering from high blood pressure, any heart condition or epilepsy
- Suffering from, or have ever had, any back or neck problems
- Have recently had any broken bones
- Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Undergoing medical treatment or have had an operation within the past twelve months

For safety reasons we normally err on the side of caution.

Do I need to be fit?

You don’t need to be at the peak of physical fitness, but some of the games may require a high level of exertion.

How does Paintballing work?

We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before your session start time. Upon arrival we'll get you geared up and your games manager will run through a quick safety brief with the group.

Once that's all out of the way, it's game on! Depending on the type of session you book, you'll play 4-6 games within our unique game zones designed to test your resolve, responsiveness and awareness under pressure.

When the fun, game and pain is over and done, you'll return your gear to us and we'll do a quick run down of the session and hand out our MVP award.

Does it hurt?

Yes, there are times when it hits and you will be jumping around waiting for it to ease and other times you don’t feel a thing. It really depends on where you were hit and from what range.

You can reduce and minimise impact by wearing sensible clothing - a jacket, thick jumper and overalls. But if you are running about in the altogether, expect a short sharp shock. Safety is the key word.

On arrival at our site you will be issued with a safety mask, specifically designed for paintball, coveralls to protect your clothes and other safety items. A comprehensive safety brief will be given at the start of the day before any player is allowed to get hold of their gun.

What do I need to bring?

In practical terms you will need a change of clothing in case you decide to crawl in the mud or if it rains, and sensible footwear. High heels and flip flops are not conducive to charging around the forest. But the most important thing to bring with you is sense of humour and a willingness to get stuck in and possibly make a fool of yourself.

Can I bring my own paintballs?

For health and safety reasons: NO. To maintain a consistent safety standard you can only use paintballs issued by Oakfire on the day of your event.

What if I'm hungry?

Charging around the forest like a maniac works up a hefty hunger; don't worry, we know it. For an extra £5, we can organise pizzas from Domino's for the group. Each participant gets half of a large pizza each, with gluten free and vegetarian options available.
